Did you know dentist offices have a storeroom with dozens of old magazines in them? Neither did I. My dentist let me take home a box of magazines to cut up, and keep idle hands busy. Can you do this digitally? Sure, but let's be real, those Xacto blades aren't going to dull themselves.
I've used this technique on several different projects including album covers, gig posters, and fashion advertisements.
